Do you possess a DBS Certificate?
Yes, I hold an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate and am subscribed to the Update Service (last update in January 2024). For more information visit the Home Office Website here.
Can I review your credentials?
Certainly. My CRB certificate, Qualified Teacher Status certificate, PGCE in Modern Languages, and French and German degree certificate are all available for you to see.
What are your teaching hours?
During term time, lessons are available Mondays to Fridays from 3:15pm to 7:00pm. During school holidays, availability extends from Mondays to Fridays, with sessions scheduled from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:30pm. Additionally, I offer tutoring on Saturdays from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Is there a minimum commitment for lessons?
No, there is no minimum term or ongoing commitment required with Tuition Taunton. You are free to discontinue lessons at any time and for any reason.
Do I need to prepare for tutoring sessions?
Typically, no preparation is necessary. However, if homework was assigned during the previous session, it would be beneficial (though not mandatory) to complete it beforehand for review. Additionally, if you have specific topics or points you'd like to cover, we can prioritise those during our session.
What age groups do you teach?
I generally do not tutor children under the age of 8, but there is no upper age limit for my students.
How and when do I make payments?
I prefer payments to be made via bank transfer. For one-to-one packages of 5 or 10 lessons, payment is requested in advance. For ongoing regular lessons I request payment after every two lessons.
Is there a cancellation policy?
If you cancel a lesson, the following charges will apply based on the amount of notice given:
Less than 1 working day: 100% of the lesson fee
1-3 working days: 50% of the lesson fee
More than 3 working days: no charge
Additionally, there is no charge if we can reschedule the lesson within the same week.
